The surgeon's assessment

Mr Robbins, the consultant surgeon, sees Mr Bryant on the post-take ward round. Mr Bryant is alert and feeling considerably better. Mr Bryant says that the pain and bloating of his stomach is a bit better, and when asked, he says he has passed a little wind, although no stool.

Mr Robbins decides that a flexible sigmoidoscopy with biopsy would be an appropriate investigation for Mr Bryant as he seems to be improving on current treatment.
