Introduction

Welcome to "John's Back Again". This is quite a complex case, with many areas to explore and more than one possible outcome. If this is your first time with a complex branching virtual patient case, you might want to explore some of the background documents first. See links at the bottom of the page.

Each page will offer you some information about the case and you will then be offered choices on what you would like to do next. Be selective in your choices. Blindly clicking on all possible links will get you a lower score.

You will also see some InfoButtons - - on some pages. The InfoButton will open a small sidebar window with additional information that you might find helpful. If you are familiar with OpenLabyrinth and how to run virtual patient cases, jump on into the case and have fun.

Finally a little lower on the right of your screen you might notice the Counters named 'DI Costs' and 'Exam time' with a number next to them.  These are score counters.  The first reflects how much you have spent on Diagnostic Imaging on your patient as you deal with his medical issues - the higher the score the more likely you are to hear from the hospital administration. The second is a simple tool to illustrate how time slips by when examining a patient extensively.  It will disappear for a while and return when it's time to be used.
